IT’S IN THE AIR . . . we can feel it everywhere we go . . . the spirit of Spring and new life. It makes each Sunday exciting as we celebrate the goodness of God . . . and catch His Spirit moving among us. Let us make the most of each Lord’s Day this month as we gather for worship.
FAMILIES ARE ENCOURAGED to worship together on May 11 when we observe The Festival of The Christian Home. There is something to be said for following the old custom of filling the ‘Family Pew’. We hope several generations from each family will be present for either the 8:15 or 10:30 AM service. The family circle could include parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, children, nieces, nephews, and more. Let’s celebrate the day by inviting relatives to be with us and extend a warm Christ Church welcome.

the meal. $225 covers the entire cost.

INCLUDED IN YOUR offering packet this month is a special envelope for use on Memorial Day weekend. It has been placed for folks wishing to remember a loved one by making a contribution to our Memorial Fund. Across the years many of our members have found this a fitting way to mark the passing of a family member or friend. It is a means of perpetuating their witness for the Christian faith and expressing thanks to God for the gift of eternal life. Each contribution is properly recorded and makes possible resources for doing the Lord’s work not included in our budget. We are most grateful to those who use this special envelope at this time of year.
WITH THE INCREASE in attendance at both services on Sunday you may welcome knowing parking is permissible in front of the
church on Walnut St. and in front of Stonehurst Court Apartments as well. If the parking lot is full please do not hesitate to use this on-street option for parking.
BELIEVE IT OR NOT . . . this will be the 15th year for our Summer Day Camp. Each year the program expands and changes in an attempt to provide a meaningful ministry to families in our community. The dates are set for June 16 thru Aug. 8. Registration brochures are now available and small groups are filling up fast. If you have a child in your home who’d like to attend camp, or if you have a neighbor, co-worker, or friend with children ages 5 - 14 . . . spread the word. Registration brochures may be requested by calling the Camp Office at 610-352-7037.****************************************

HUNDREDS OF HOURS in volunteer service are given to the ministry of Christ Church every week. Thanks to the willing hands of members and friends a variety of tasks are undertaken. . . some of them saving the congregation significant dollars. A good many of our volunteers serve sight unseen . . . washing and ironing robes, folding bulletins, stuffing envelopes or assisting with mailings, delivering flowers, weeding flower beds, shoveling snow, answering telephones, working in the kitchen, helping with the Food Center or Feast Incarnate . . . and much more. More than half of the membership of Christ Church is involved in one or more volunteer activities each year. Thank you . . . thank you . . . thank you to every one of you.

MAY IS BABY MANNA MONTH
For the 8th year the Philadelphia Food Bank has requested our support for their special effort to assist babies born to mothers
living in poverty. The Food Bank’s Baba Manna program makes possible infant formula and baby food for those in need in the
![]() five country area.
During the month of May we are encouraging members and friends to take an empty baby food jar from the display in the Gathering Place and fill it with loose change or other form of donation (cash or check payable to Christ Church). We request all jars be returned by Sunday, May 25. Monies collected will be forwarded to the Food Bank and food purchased will be distributed through 800 feeding agencies that are part of the Food Bank network
More than 1000 infants are born into poverty each month in the Delaware Valley. Your return of a baby food jar will help ensure that babies receive the proper nutrition they need. Most babies born into poverty are cared for by someone other than their mother.
