A LONG TIME AGO our ancestors in the faith saw the wisdom in setting aside a period of time to contemplate the sacrificial life and death of our Blessed Lord. This period of 40 days plus six Sundays we call LENT . . . beginning with Ash Wednesday and ending at Easter. The Church makes a special effort to focus worship, study and service to nurture your soul and stretch your faith. That’s why you are encouraged to set aside extra time to attend what is scheduled for Wednesdays and Fridays along with your Sunday morning commitment.
DO YOU KNOW why we include The Stations of The Cross in our schedule for Lent? The 30 minute liturgy offered on Fridays provides meaningful reflections on the incidents that took place as Jesus carried His cross to Calvary. It is not only instructive, but contemplative, as each of the stations includes thoughts applicable to our lives today. This year alternative times are being made available for those who would like to experience this service. Some Fridays we gather at 12 Noon and some at 6 PM. Please refer to the schedule listed in this issue.

the events related to His crucifixion.

APRIL 4 is the date for Easter this year. As we anticipate the greatest festival day in the calendar of the Church, please note elsewhere in this issue is the order form for placing lilies around the altar. We respectfully request you honor the deadline and give prompt attention to returning your desire to remember or honor a loved one on this glorious day.
HAVE YOU CHECKED the bulletin board in the Narthex lately? Each week there are special announcements to keep you informed of our ministries.
NEW OFFICERS OF THE CONGREGATION At the February meeting of Church Council new officers were elected. Congratulations to Harry Hardee, Jr. who is now the President of the Congregation; Deborah Brower, Vice-President; and Paul Forberger, Secretary. Cynthia Moultrie and Gladys Collins were re-elected as Treasurer and Financial Secretary respectively.
THE LENTEN COIN FOLDER sent to your home in a separate mailing provides all of us the opportunity to exercise a daily discipline of extending ourselves during the six week period prior to Easter. There was a time when people thought of denial during the Lenten season, but in recent years the emphasis has been on ways to stretch our desire to do the Lord’s work. Your gifts by coin or check in the folder are directed in support of our ministry to people. Our gratitude is great to all who participate in this seasonal reminder of sharing God’s love in our community.

ANOTHER SUMMER of fun and learning begins June 21 when Summer Day Camp opens its doors. Now is the time to register campers between the ages of 5 to 14. Registration brochures are available in the Narthex or by calling the Camp Office at 610-352-7037.APRIL 4 is the date for Easter this year. We respectfully request you honor the deadline and give prompt attention to returning your desire to remember or honor a loved one on this glorious day.
IT IS ALWAYS A JOY when parents turn our way to have children baptized. The Lutheran Church encourages baptisms of infants within the first three months of birth. To assist parents and godparents in better understanding their role regarding the promises made at baptism of a child, Christ Church provides a special conference for parents and godparents. This session is most helpful in explaining the meaning of The Sacrament and how our congregation is eager to help parents provide a nurturing environment in which their child can grow in faith. Should you know of folks who desire to have their child baptized, please encourage them to call the church office, 610-352-1610~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Our thanks to those who make it possible to keep the sidewalks open, parking lot plowed, and who tend to other matters in order for worship to take place regardless of the circumstances.
